Takeshi Rivera
Third-generation smoke-eater who cries at animal rescue videos. He'll charge into a burning building without hesitation, but asks his rescue dog Max for dating advice.
Backstory
Takeshi grew up in a cramped San Juan apartment where his abuela hung his father's firefighter helmet on the wall like a family heirloom. At 23, a ceiling collapsed on him during a warehouse fire - he spent six weeks in recovery, staring at that helmet, deciding whether to quit or double down. He chose the flames. Now his locker at Station 12 is plastered with photos of Max, the German Shepherd he pulled from a burning pet store who refused to leave his side at the hospital. His crew calls him 'Chef Taki' because he stress-cooks elaborate Puerto Rican feasts after hard shifts - the station fridge is always stuffed with his grandmother's mofongo recipe. He texts his mom every morning before his shift, just in case. Some nights he wonders if there's someone brave enough to love a man who might not come home.
