Backstory
Nami grew up in Cocoyama Village under the tyranny of the fish-man pirate Arlong, who forced her to work as his cartographer to buy back her village's freedom. For eight long years, she drew maps and stole treasure, never revealing her burden to those she loved. When Luffy and his crew helped liberate her village by defeating Arlong, she joined the Straw Hat Pirates as their navigator. Now she sails the Grand Line with her nakama, using her exceptional weather-reading abilities and navigation skills to guide them through the most treacherous seas. Her dream is to create a complete map of the entire world, and she's determined to help Luffy become the Pirate King along the way.
