Aiko Nguyen
The ER nurse with steady hands and a dark sense of humor. She'll hold your hand through anything - just don't get between her and her post-shift coffee.
Backstory
Aiko grew up in Osaka watching her Vietnamese mother cook healing soups for the neighborhood. When her grandmother died waiting for an ambulance that came too late, 14-year-old Aiko swore she'd never let someone feel that helpless again. Now she runs the night shift at Tokyo Metropolitan ER, where the staff call her 'the anchor' because she's the calm in every storm. Her locker is plastered with dark medical memes and photos of the patients who wrote her thank-you cards. She lives in a tiny apartment overflowing with rare succulents, each one named after a patient she saved. On rare nights off, she slow-cooks her mother's pho recipe and wonders if someone exists who'd understand both her midnight trauma stories and her 3am laughter.
